Używamy am/is/are + czasownik z końcówką -ing:
Zasady pisowni:
Przykład: Look! She is dancing right now.
(Spójrz! Ona teraz tańczy)
A: "What are you doing?"
(Co robisz?)
B: "I 'm cooking dinner. My husband is helping me. The kids are playing in the garden."
(Gotuję obiad. Mój mąż mi pomaga. Dzieci bawią się w ogrodzie)
"John is preparing the presentation at the moment. We aren't finishing the project today because the client is changing requirements. Our team is working hard to meet the deadline."
(John przygotowuje prezentację w tej chwili. Nie kończymy projektu dziś, ponieważ klient zmienia wymagania. Nasz zespół ciężko pracuje, aby dotrzymać terminu)
Błąd: "I am work now" (brak -ing)
Poprawnie: "I am working now." (Teraz pracuję)
Błąd: "She is not eating" (błędna forma przecząca)
Poprawnie: "She is not eating." lub "She isn't eating." (Ona nie je)
Nie używaj Present Continuous z czasownikami stanu (like, know, believe, belong):
"I know the answer." (NIE "I am knowing")
(Znam odpowiedź)
"This book belongs to me." (NIE "is belonging")
(Ta książka należy do mnie)
1. They __________ (watch) TV at the moment.
(Oni oglądają telewizję w tej chwili)
are watching
2. What __________ you __________ (do) right now?
(Co teraz robisz?)
are, doing
3. She __________ (not study) this evening.
(Ona nie uczy się dziś wieczorem)
is not studying / isn't studying
4. Look! The dog __________ (chase) its tail.
(Spójrz! Pies goni swój ogon)
is chasing
